Today marks the end of World Space Week 2012.
The theme for 2012 is “Space for Human Safety and Security”, which celebrates the many ways in which mankind's activities in space improve our daily lives. Earth observation, navigation and telecommunication satellites are used every day to protect humans and safeguard our environment including measuring pollution levels, monitoring deforestation, tracking forest fires and viewing damage caused by natural disasters.
Celebrate Space Week in the Classroom
Why not use Primary Britannica to search for “Space Exploration”, “Astronaut” and “NASA” to learn more about everything in space? Check out the space exploration video, which is a great way for your pupils to see a space shuttle taking off! All these articles and videos are age-appropriate and fact-checked by experts.
