A Leap Year is needed to keep our calendar in alignment with the Earth's revolutions around the sun. It takes the Earth approximately 365.242199 days to orbit once around the Sun. If we didn't add a day on February 29 nearly every 4 years, we would lose almost six hours every year!
There are many people born on February 29th and they are known as Leaplings. But they have to celebrate their birthday on the 28th of February or 1st of March on non- leap years! Do we have any Leaplings in the Fan Club?
