With this in mind, we wanted to share a few ideas of how you could encourage creativity and passion in your classroom…

Class Discussion & Visual Reflection

Sometimes it’s beneficial for students to reflect on the information given to them in a lesson. This could be done in a number of ways via class discussion and visual methods, which could include students writing one thing they have learnt in the lesson, or the best thing they learnt in the lesson – a brilliant way to encourage engagement.

Hands-on Learning

This type of approach to learning helps engage students on a deeper level and encourages students to be creative. For example, if you are doing a science experiment with the class and they are watching you do a demonstration, why not get them involved and ask them to follow the method along with you with their own equipment?

We think this Benjamin Franklin quote is brilliant inspiration “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”.

Encourage Class Discussion

Whole-class discussions or even small groups are great to encourage in lessons, as it enables students to support one another, express new ideas and voice their opinions.

Discussions are also great as they get students thinking critically and challenges them to listen to other students’ opinions and find solutions to any problems.

You could start your lesson with a mini activity for students to solve a problem as a group with others on their table.
