With the Phonics Screening week just around the corner for Year 1 and Year 2, we wanted to highlight our own Phonics Screening Check Topic Tool, which is new for 2014. It’s great for getting students used to the format of the test and for that last-minute practice.
Here are some of its benefits:-
- You can choose which words (CVC, CCVC, etc.) to include in the test you create. If the student you are working with just needs general practice, simply prepare a test using the ‘Auto-Generate a Check’ option. If he/she is having difficulties with certain sounds, you can generate a list to focus on those.
- The Tool follows the same format as the Phonics Screening Check test they will be sitting, including the use of aliens for identifying pseudo words.
- Once the test is completed, the Tool will compile a list of all the words read both correctly and incorrectly. These can be exported from EducationCity quickly and easily into Word, Excel or any other programme you choose.
